#006: How Bright Is Your Spark?
Hi there!
When I started coding, I just wanted to create. At some point, code became my career. However, there was a period in my life where I started hating the act of coding. It took a while to figure out what and why it happened. For this week’s piece, I explored the concept of what code actually is and how it impacts us on a mental level.
The Misconceptions About Dev Work And How It Drains Our Spark
Throw Back Pieces
Back in August/Septemeber 2020, I released a mini-series on patterns. Patterns are important because they provide structure to the code while giving it a universal way of implementing ideas without the need to reinvent the wheel.

- Decorator Pattern in a nutshell
- Composite Pattern in a nutshell
- Bridge Pattern in a nutshell

Other side pieces
Over the past year, I’ve really immersed myself in personal finance topics. Here is a throwback piece and new piece I’ve written on the subject. Not exactly code related but perhaps it might be useful in some way.

Cool Code Finds
Here are some cool code finds for this week. Well, it’s actually more like design finds — which can be interesting for frontend developers, or those who are looking to extend their knowledge with random little internet dots.

Final Thoughts
“Stop being patient and start asking yourself, how do I accomplish my 10 years plan in 6 months? You will probably fail but you will be lot further ahead of the person who accepted it was going to take 10 years”
— Elon Musk
I’ve got approximately 7 months left before a major life event is going to occur. This means I have about 6 months to get a system in place, along with other life-related things in preparation for it. At some point, once everything is properly confirmed, I’ll be less cryptic about this thing and document my journey properly for it.
But for now, over and out.
